Rick France

ACES的創辦人Rick來自美國賓州的匹茲堡， 1991年他自卡內基美濃大學畢業後就來到台灣。原本只想來東方看看以開拓視野的他，並未計畫長留台灣，但台灣人的友善好客以及他對教學的熱愛讓他留下。12年後，與Tammy結婚成了台灣女婿，並有兩個可愛的孩子-Farrah及Brady，Rick早已將台灣視為他的第二個家。自1998年Rick創立ACES民生本班至今，在許多死忠的學生和家長們的支持下，ACES已括展為民生、東湖、麗山、大直、汐止、新店、板橋、羅東、台中、高雄、林口、新莊及永和十三間學校。這些年的教學與經營，他最大的欣慰就是看著ACES的學生們能夠正確又自在的運用英文表達事情。

I’m Rick. I was raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. I graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1991. The following year, I came to Taiwan seeking to broaden my horizons and gain a deeper understanding of the world from a different point of view. I never imagined I would make Taiwan my home, but the hospitality of the people and my love for the teaching profession convinced me to extend my stay. Twelve years later, I married a wonderful woman, Tammy, and we soon had two beautiful little kids, Farrah and Brady. Two more reasons for me to call Taiwan my home.

I opened the doors of the Minsheng ACES in 1998 with the enthusiastic support of lots of loyal students and their parents. Today, we have thirteen ACES branches spreading our brand of outstanding English language training to the future leaders of Taiwan. Despite the tremendous success of ACES schools, my greatest professional joy is seeing my current or former students and hearing them use English accurately and effectively to express themselves with confidence. It is my hope that these students may go on to use their English abilities to make a better life for themselves, and to make Taiwan and the Earth a better place.

Dan Moyle

加拿大多倫多市出生和快樂成長的Dan，高中畢業後獨自前往該省另一個城市就讀大學。在大二時認識的台灣室友的遊說下， 1994年他來到台灣。在這裡，他不但享受愉快的教書生活，而且還擁有幸福美滿的小家庭。而從ACES一開始就教課至今的他可是元老級的教師之一。

Hello everyone. My name’s Daniel Moyle, but everyone just calls me Dan. I hail from Toronto, Canada where I was born and raised. Toronto is a wonderful city where I enjoyed growing up until I graduated from high school. It was time for me to go to University, so I picked up and moved to London, Ontario. During my second year at university, I had a Taiwanese roommate who ended up convincing me to come and visit Taiwan. I’m sure glad I did because since I got here in 1994, I’ve had a great time. I’ve been having good fun teaching English since I stepped off the airplane and I’ve managed to get married and have two beautiful children in that time as well. I’ve been teaching at ACES since the doors opened and I hope to see you in my class soon.

Malcom McWhirter

你好，我是Malcolm。我來自華盛頓州西雅圖市。我在華盛頓西部大學讀國際商務系。我對外語和不同的文化有興趣。我之前住在桃園區，在那邊工作還有在中央大學學中文。休閒時間，我喜歡去河邊騎腳踏車或找戶外可以運動的地方。我剛剛搬來台北，很興奮加入ACES，我們課堂上見。

Hello, I’m Malcolm! I’m originally from Seattle, WA. I studied international business at Western Washington University. I’m interested in foreign languages and different cultures. I first lived in Taoyuan County where I was able to work and study Chinese at National Central University. In my free time you can find me riding my bicycle along the riverside or finding cool places to exercise outside. I just recently moved to Taipei and I’m excited to be a part of ACES. Matt Blackburn

A pleasure to meet you all. My name’s Matt and I’m from New Zealand. I graduated from Auckland University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Psychology in 2002, then I promptly got on an airplane and moved to Taiwan. Since arriving in Taiwan, I have taught extensively, studied post-graduate at National Cheng-Kung University, and opened my own business. I have had the pleasure of seeing students I taught in early elementary school grow up into outstanding university graduates and adults. I am very grateful to be a part of your English education journey and I wish you all great success.

Konraad A. Kordula

我是在紐約市出生的Konraad。我高中畢業後獨身前往北加州就讀大學，大學期間，我喜歡從事各項運動及義工活動。畢業後移居來台北，在台灣教英語之餘，我也開始學習中文、瑜珈、武術、旅行、閱讀和社交活動。我的父母親、姐姐和弟弟都仍住在紐約市，他們非常思念我。

Hello, I’m Konraad. I was born in New York City in 1977. I was raised in northern New Jersey, in a town just outside of New York City. After graduating from high school, I moved to North Carolina, where I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While there, I majored in Political Science and International Studies. During my four years at Carolina, I was active with athletic and volunteer programs, working mostly with children and minority groups. After graduating from Carolina in 1999, I moved to Taipei, Taiwan, where I have lived ever since. In addition to teaching English, I study Chinese, yoga, and martial arts. I enjoy traveling, reading, and socializing. I’m the middle child; my older sister, younger brother, and my parents live in the New York City area and miss me very much.

Spencer

你好，我是Spencer。我原本是德州人，11歲時因父親的工作搬到了台灣，在台灣生活了七年，就讀於台北美國學校。後來回到美國就讀大學，並從南加州大學畢業，獲得了兩個學士學位。 2020年時，我決定回到台灣教英語，在ACES之前，曾在科見美語中心任教。在休閒時間，我喜歡烹飪新的食譜和製作音樂。期待在課堂上與你見面唷！

Hi! I’m Spencer! I’m from Texas originally, but I moved to Taiwan when I was just 11 years old because of my father’s occupation. I lived in Taiwan for a total of seven years, attending Taipei American School, and later graduated from USC with two Bachelor’s degrees. In 2020 I made the decision to move back to Taiwan to teach English, and taught at Kojen English Centers before making the move to ACES. In my free time I like to cook new recipes and make music. I look forward to seeing you in the classroom!

Hello everyone! I am Rob. I have been teaching English at ACES since 2017 and graduated from the English Department of Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. I believe a grammar-based teaching system can be highly effective for students trying to grasp the language at a young age. I’m very excited to be a part of this talented group of teachers. Jeff Kuhel

我有超過40年教英文為第二語言的經驗，教學對象有各年齡層，從初期學習到近似於英文為母語的程度都有。我從1990年就在台灣居住，在2005至2009年期間我在敦煌書局工作。在眾多主題之中，我撰寫了一套受歡迎的教導全民英檢測驗核心元素的系列叢書。而在過去的15年，我在ACES的工作是協助設計及教學進階精修課程，也因此我非常熟悉有關本地一般說中文的人在學習英文這個外語的常見錯誤。近幾年我關注於台灣高中的入學考試(會考)、TOEFL(托福)、母語是英文的高中英文AP入班測驗、以及讓高中生請求到美國大學就讀的SAT(美國大學入學測驗)。我很高興和一位美麗的台灣大學腫瘤學研究科學家結婚，並有了一個16歲非常酷又讓我開心的女兒，台灣是我的家。

　　I have over 40 years of experience teaching English as a second language to all ages from true beginners to near native speakers on four continents. I have lived in Taiwan since 1990. From 2005 to 2009, I worked at Caves Books Publishing. Among dozens of titles, I authored a popular series of books teaching the core elements of the GEPT test. For the last 15 years, I have been working at ACES helping to design and teach the Advanced Program. As a result, I am well acquainted with the common mistakes associated with native Mandarin speakers learning English as a foreign language. More recently, I have focused on Taiwan’s High School Entrance Exam, TOEFL as well as both the English Advanced Placement Test and SAT Exams for high school students seeking to study at American universities. I am cheerfully married to a beautiful oncology research scientist at National Taiwan University and have a 16-year-old daughter who is pretty cool and makes me laugh. Taiwan is my home.
